Statewide, Connecticut closed or issued pollution advisories at 224 beaches in 2006, a 12 percent jump from similiar actions taken in 2005, according to a report released by Save the Sound this week.
"The increase in closure days is indeed something to worry about," he said. "The report makes it clear that the water is not as clean as it should be."
